Type Tours & Excursions, Excursions
Your day in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains promises to be one ofthe most beautiful scenic tours ever taken! Enter the ancestral Rockies and wind up the spectacular canyon to Estes Park, eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Rocky Mountain National Park is at its peak in summer, when the meadows are green and the wildflowers are plentiful on the alpine tundra. For 10,000 years, this season has been the favorite time to visit the region. Native Americans traveled between Grand Lake and Estes Park over the same trails that are in use today. Elk are plentiful in the park, as well as bighorn sheep, mule deer and a small population of moose. Wildlife viewing is possible most of the year but summer is a particularly good time to see the park's inhabitants. We'll tour the park by motorcoach, visiting the most scenic spots and most interesting landmarks.
Then it's all aboard for the return trip down to the charming and quaint mountain town of Estes Park. You will be given time in the afternoon to have lunch, sightsee and browse the myriad shops, quality boutiques and art galleries before our return trip to Denver.
Includes: Roundtrip deluxe motorcoach transportation, professional tour guide, beverages and snacks en route and admission to Rocky Mountain National Park. Lunch on own in Estes Park.

Historic Moments with The Browns

Today we tour the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown House, the entirely restored home of Colorado's most colorful Victorian heroine. Born Margaret Tobin Brown, she received her unusual nickname as a result of the courage and leadership she displayed during the sinking of the "Unsinkable" Titanic. Located in the Capitol Hill area, the house was originally built in the late 1800's and reflects turn-of-the-century Victorian influence. A privately guided tour of the premises reveals fascinating glimpses into the flamboyant lifestyle of a bygone era. The Browns made frequent trips to Europe and Molly incorporated the 'Grand Tour' style into her decorating.
We also visit the historic Brown Palace Hotel. Known to natives as "The Brown," this hotel has welcomed the rich and famous since opening in 1892. The 230-room historic landmark is located on a corner in the heart of downtown Denver. Your behind-the- scenes tour reveals loads of secrets!
Includes: Roundtrip deluxe motorcoach transportation, professional tour guide, tour of Molly Brown House Museum, tour of Brown Palace Hotel.
Note: The Molly Brown House is not wheelchair-accessible due to the historic nature of the home.

We will start the day with a scenic drive to beautiful Idaho Springs where we stop at the Phoenix Gold Mine to experience mining history with a seasoned Colorado Hard Rock Miner. The Phoenix Mine is operated by the oldest continuous gold mining family in Colorado and you might even get to take home a little bit of Colorado gold for yourself.
After digging up the gold treasures you will head to another buried treasure known as Dinosaur Ridge, one of the world's most famous dinosaur fossil localities. In 1877, some of the first and best-known dinosaurs were discovered here. These include the Brontosaurus, Stegosaurus, and the Colorado State Fossil, the Allosaurus, representing life 145 million years ago. This stratum represents the shoreline sediments of an ancient seaway that was frequently trampled by dinosaurs and now referred to as the "Dinosaur Freeway." A stop at the visitor center is followed by a drive-by tour of the Dinosaur Ridge roadcut.
